When Jesus Became Enough
Breaking free from systems and returning to the One who holds all things
Veronica and Angelo arrived at the place in Tennessee, deep in the forest, and from the moment they walked through the door, the atmosphere shifted to something beautiful. We sat together into the late hours of the night, speaking about faith and about our Jesus. We even wept. I am talking about men weeping. It is a rare and humbling sight to see strong men broken in tenderness before the Lord, but these were not tears of weakness. They were tears of love and gratitude as we spoke of what Christ has done in our lives and how He has carried us through both darkness and light.
They shared with us how they, too, came out of both Zionist Christianity and the Word of Faith movement. They told us, with sorrow about being in circles connected to very well known ministers such as Kenneth Copeland and Paula White, and the deep disappointment they felt while walking in those environments. What once looked powerful and anointed eventually revealed itself to be something else entirely. It became clear that much of what they were witnessing centered more on platforms, money, image, and politics than on Jesus Himself. There was no anger in their words, only a quiet grief and a firm resolve that they could no longer be part of a system that had moved away from the simplicity and purity of Christ.
And that brings me to something that still amazes me.
Can you believe this. Did you hear such a thing:
Those pastors openly support the modern state of Israel, its politics, and even certain rabbinic authorities, believing they are honoring God. Yet few of them realize that within some streams of rabbinic and mystical Judaism, a very different theological message is being taught.
In these traditions, Jews are told that through the performance of the 613 mitzvot, meaning the religious commandments given in “their” Torah ( Talmud, Zohar and Kabbalah on top of the Old Testament ) - they are responsible for sustaining the universe and repairing the world.
They are taught that the transformation of humanity and the very balance of creation depends on their return to full obedience to Jewish law.
In other words, the world is said to rest not on Christ and grace , but on law. Not on the Messiah, but on mitzvot the Jews perform !
This is a staggering contradiction to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17).
The universe is not upheld by commandments, rituals, bloodline, or religious systems. It is upheld by Jesus Christ alone.
“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 3:11).
“By works of the law no human being will be justified in His sight” (Romans 3:20).
“Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes” (Romans 10:4).
If the law could sustain the world or save mankind, the cross would not have been necessary.
Yet this is where Zionist Christianity quietly departs from the truth. It redirects the believer’s eyes from the cross to a map of Israel, from the risen Savior to a political nation of Israel, from the finished work of Christ to an unfinished political and religious system.
It teaches devotion to a land where Scripture teaches devotion to a King.
But the New Testament is clear.
“In these last days He has spoken to us by His Son” (Hebrews 1:2).
“Our citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 3:20).
“You are not under law but under grace” (Romans 6:14).
“There is neither Jew nor Greek… for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).
This is not about rejecting people. It is about rejecting a false center.
Not the mitzvah.
Not the nation.
Not the system.
Only Jesus Christ.
“And He is the head of the body, the church… that in all things He may have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:18).
We still have today ahead of us in fellowship, and I am writing this as I drink my first cup of coffee, just before heading into the kitchen to welcome them with breakfast. I will make egg salad on sourdough, next to it vegan sausage, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, and some potatoes fried up for a skillet. On the side I will add a little jelly and some grass-fed butter. There is something holy about breaking bread together, about serving one another quietly, away from stages and microphones.
And as I reflect on last night, on the tears, the prayers, and the testimony we shared, I want to gently encourage you to do something today as well.
If you know someone who is caught in Zionist Christianity, do not confront them with anger or harsh arguments. From my own experience, I have learned that those things do not open hearts. Only love does. Only example does. Only gentle and consistent reminders of who Jesus truly is can bring change.
So lift Him up. Speak His name. Reflect His love. Redirect hearts back to the cross, back to grace, back to Christ as the center of all things.
Be the example. Be the light. And let Jesus do the rest.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts while your friends are visiting! Love Colossians 1:18. That is a great memory verse I need to put on my list. Your breakfast preparation plan sounds delicious. Enjoy today, loving our Lord God Jesus Christ!
Ezekiel was told the same thing, so they can’t claim it’s just NT lies. Blessings to you and Steve
23 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
24 Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
25 Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land? Ezekiel 33
